Well, I don't know you so I wouldn't think anything at all. Live and let live. I mean, you have to live with the choices you make, not me, so who am I to be so opinionated about something that doesn't even affect me, right? LOL

Now if you were my close friend, or sister, and called me to ask my opinion, then I might tell you I think it's awful. Even the plastic studs bang against the teeth. I'm 41 and have all kinds of teeth problems now that I didn't expect. The LAST thing I'd encourage someone to do is this.

Plus, there's the whole hole in the mouth, swollen often, mouth has bazillions of bacteria living in there, infection where you eat, infection you can swallow. Nasty.

Finally, I'd say "Well, my dear friend or sister whom I LOVE, before you do this mutilation to your beautiful mouth, have you thought WHY you want to do this?" I mean, seriously, you're almost 30 now. Is THAT why? Are you trying to hold on to the 20s by getting a provocative piercing that will tell people what a bad a$$ you are? I bet there are better ways that don't involve mutilating your mouth. Are you looking for the sexy aspect? You know, you could buy some leather pants and a boustier and get the same effect AND once the leather pants come off you can relax, but with a tongue piercing, it's ALWAYS there! Always in the way when you talk and eat.

I realize people come to be able to talk and eat around the things, but it takes a looooong time. Until then, they sound like a bad comedian's jokes about mentally challenged people. And a liquid diet sounds easy until you've tried it.

If you were someone I loved, I would suggest you rethink the whole thing. Have you considered a tatoo instead? Yes, just as permanent, just as painful, also just as potentially daring and sexy! You can "hide" it somewhere that only your lover/husband will see. And the pain heals on a tat, unlike most piercings.

But you're a total stranger, so I'm going to close by saying that your life is yours to live and no one has the power to make you feel bad about your choices, unless you give them that power. So in the end, be honest and true to yourself about what you want, then go for it and screw what the world might say.

I think she should get over it, fast!
Stereotypically speaking, anybody that doesnt have one
and sees it on someone else will think she/he only got the piercing to please their partner sexually.
And the world doesnt care to know about your sex life,
but its just RIGHT THERE! How can we miss it?
Its your life, do what you want!
But seriously, its so risky to the mouth and the infections
it can cause. Also, it looks very unprofessional at the
work place. Just dont do it! Get your belly pierced, or your nipple. A place only you and your other half will know about.

I personally think tongue piercing is hideous. They can get infected easily, I once dated a boy with one and frenching was awkward. Just think about it and if you really want a hole in your tongue.

I don't approve of tongue piercing. It makes the tongue more susceptible to infections, and the stud can damage the teeth.

My son is 20. He has pierced his tongue, eyebrown, lip, channeled his ear and tatood himself with reckless abandon. I HAVE TO SAY.... as a Mom, when I had my children I worried that they would be perfect. I counted their toes and knew every inch of their bodies. Everytime he mutilates himself I ask myself what I did wrong as a Mother.

i don't see anything wrong with it i think that if someone is going to take a major step in their life by getting their tongue pierced they better be 21 or older because by that age you are able to accept pain and regret.

i think it would make you look less professional when you are going to get a job and might be the deciding factor in many circumstances.. it sounds pretty dumb that people would judge you for a tongue piercing, but...
