The only suggestion i can make is just work as much as you can but do what your body tells you. Like take a power nap in the middle of the day to help your energy level and keep some healthy snacks with you. If you are exercising it should give you an energy boost too. I am 17wks and i know how you must feel i work f/t as well but i do what my body tells me i sleep when i need to and eat when i need to that helps with the way i feel. O and make sure you are getting 8hours of sleep at night that helps a lot.

I know how you feel - I felt exactly the same when I was pregnant. If you have the financial luxury, just quit and stay home to rest - that is the best. But if you don't, like me, you will just have to soldier on and do the best you can. For me, I was the most tired during the first and last trimester. You just have to do as best as you can at your job - I think that is the most conscientious thing to do. However, don't expect to keep the same pace and don't try to be a perfectionist - obviously, some things will have to give. At the end of the day, you and the baby are more important than the job and you will just have to give priority to rest. Good luck!

Hi - I don't have the answer for you, but just wanted to sympathize. I'm 24 weeks pregnant and feel exactly as you do. Having to work full-time while preparing for the baby is tough stuff. I find that eating tons of protein gives me an extra boost and other than that, I just try to rest as much as I can. I know they say exercise helps energize you, but it makes me more tired. Can you talk to your boss? Maybe you could work from home some or work a modified schedule? Good luck...this will all be worth it when the baby is here.

Its tough and tiring, no doubt. You can help get more energy by eating first thing in the morning and having small snacks every 2 hours or so. Even though hormonal cravings will steer you to all kinds of foods, healthy foods like raw veggies and fruit will help boost your energy. I worked full time too and a part time job while I was pregnant and literally had to nap in the car on my lunch hour because I was so tired. You can get through it and its great training for after you have the baby and it seems like you'll never sleep again.

Dear Drama,

Is this your first pregnancy? My wife often felt like this more in her first than second pregnancy. Have you had a blood-sugar test for diabetes or related pregnancy onset illnesses?

Make sure you've adjusted your sleeping lifestyle accordingly. My wife tried to keep the same "sleep from 11 to 6" hours that she had previously, and they exhausted her. She has since moved her bedtime back to between 9 to 10 o'clock and this has helped immensely.

If you can, try and stay active otherwise. Look up pregnancy exercises and do them. Make sure you eat enough, and enough of the right foods (look at the Bradley diet, for instance). Clif bars, Powerbars, etc., nake good snacks. Make sure you're taking prenatal vitamins.

Good luck!

the tired phase will be over soon, just try to get as much rest as possible, if you feel tired, go to sleep...that is the only thing to do. Pregnancy takes a lot out of your body, your employer will just have to deal with it. Soon you will have incredible amounts of energy and feel a zillion times better, ofcourse once the baby comes, you will know true exhaustion....good luck

First tell your doctor about it. Maybe there is something he can do to help. The body will change a lot, and some do get tired easy and some have energy.
