When I'm royally ticked off I go to the gym and pound the crap out of the treadmill...listening to some angry music and pretend I'm the chick from the Terminator.
When I'm sad, I call one of my girlfriends.
When I'm just all around in a bad mood I will go to the gym and get in a good work out, then cook an elaborate (but not TOO unhealthy) meal. Whine to my girlfriends (love them) and call my boyfriend to come make out with me.
Sometimes I go up to my bathroom and have a mini spa session - followed by full on make up application and straighten my hair. Put on some of my nice perfume. Over do the jewelry. Then force a smile on my face, cause yanno what? It could be A LOT worse. I could have been driving to the airport last night and been crushed by a ceiling tile in the I-90 tunnel, or live in a building where a suicidal asshole blew up my house in the process of trying to kill myself.

When I'm mad, I generally eat or punch a pillow or something like that.
When I'm sad I cry and sometimes eat. A good pint of Ben and Jerry's Ice cream helps me get over being sad.

i have a playlist of 'angst/ anger mood' music that i play over and over again.
Live, Smashing pumpkins some dark stuff that i pretty much only listen to when it's really bad. also some Sarah mclachlan becasue her words can be on point.
and if its a real mad i have a small punching bag in the garage and since its over 100 degrees in there, i get over it very, very very quickly.

I go through the emotions, reflect on the situation, and find something positive to do to make the best out of a bad situation.

I sleep it off and exercise. I feel that it is good to burn off all the negativity with exercise. Then just take a deep breath and think forward, not about the past.

Let the emotions go through you rather than try to distract yourself with food or something else. Feel them and let them go and take a very deep cleansing breath. If you try to distract yourself the emotions will keep try to barrage you, if you go through them and let go then they will pass. Others may come but not as often as if you try to repress.

Well, before I found this web site, I would go play outside. Tennis, B-ball, bike ride, etc. Now I find some funny answers and laugh it off.
