Don't listen to any of them. My belly button has been pierced for almost 4 yrs... It takes a few months to heal completely, and the gooey stuff is normal. Get some "sea salt" and mix with warm water and put in a shot glass. Then lay down and put that over your belly button for about 5 minutes twice a day. OR spray it with Bactine 2x a day. You'll be fine. If it gets super crusty, bleeding, or gets a sore on it, THEN invest in a doctor.

It depends on the bodies healing process but it can take up to a year to heal. Gooey fluid is ok but if its white too, that is most likely a sign of infection...especially if the skin is getting red and inflamed as well. Go see your doctor for a checkup asap, as antibiotics may help stop your body rejecting the piercing.

I wouldn't rush to the doctor right away. I had that gooey fluid in mine too. All I did was put alcohol or peroxide on it and within a few days it was gone. As far as how long it will take to heal, mine has been out for about 8 months and the hole is still there, but I don't feel it though.

I am not sure of the time to heal, but white gooey fluid means its infected and you need to go to a doctor or get some antiseptic or something.

Yeah the white gooey fluid is probably puss, unless your boy friend was around recently...

Mine never healed, I kept it in for over a year and had to finally give up and take it out.

But in my experience of going to several doctors for it, anything other than a clear fluid is usually a sign of infection. You probably need to get it checked out.
