I think absence does make the heart grow fonder - to a point. After that it becomes out of sight, out of mind.

Depends on the situation for me. As far as people I care about: Absence makes the heart grow fonder. If we're talking about a material object: Out of sight, out of mind.

Out of Sight out of Mind. I truely will forget something if I don't see it. Thats why when I have candy, I have to hide it from myself so I don't eat the whole thing all at once. But the absence of it does make the heart grow fonder b/c when you then when you do get it after awhile, you're like, OMG this tastes SOO good!!! How could I have stayed away for so long?
Well, thats how it is with me and Peanut M&M's anyway.

Depends on the relationship. For some out of sight is out of mind and you are glad they are gone. For others out of sight out of mind makes you miss them so much it hurts, thus, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Yes, I feel the same way. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. I have a friend in Colorado, I live in Arizona. I want to talk to her all the time, It's like I can't get enough of her. I get excited every time I think about her. I send her ecards all the time.

Sometimes absence causes the heart to forget. For me, "out of sight, out of mind" really only applies to superficial matters, like forgetting to take the trash out because you didn't see the full container on your way out the door. Matters of the heart are different. The heart has an excellent memory...sometimes too excellent...and an absence can make it grow fonder or forget.

I think it depends on the length of time. 3 months or so, absence makes the heart grow fonder, over 6months, out of sight out of mind. It also depends on the circumstances of the separation.

Depends on what you're missing....

My keys: out of sight, out of mind
My husband when he's deployed: absence makes the heart grow fonder

You know, at first, absence does make the heart grow fonder. But sometimes, Time is a great bridge, and once you cross it, the feeling is not as strong as it once was.
You still love and think about the person, but the pull is just not as intense, the hurt not as bad.
