Hero beating up villain or villain making it hard for hero?

Neither - interesting people I can care about and interesing situations they have to get out of.
Not all movies are action...

Neither. I think our invested money on tickets make a movie interesting, even bad movies also.

I like seeing ordinary people finding themselves in EXTRAORDINARY situations.
Or even normal situations that I can relate to, (having similar problems to me) and then overcoming the problem.
I also enjoy sci-fi (Star Wars, etc) because it takes you to a fantasy place.

It depends. It has to have a good story line or just be a great action/horror scene. That keeps me glued til' its over.

for action packed movie,the explosion and guns and if better,the hero gets defeated..for romance movie,to see the lovers die
