So she's adopting kids that need a good home, sorta helping them out in life. She's showing how humanitarian she is, but my question is, why not adopt American children that need adopting, there are so many that need homes and she goes to other countries to get them.

I know! Hopefully she WILL adopt an American child and show the world that she is a TRUE humanitarian and not just a visable Hollywood actress making a statement.

I hope Angelina reads this question and all the responses!!!!!! lol

I agree with you to a certain extent. Charity starts at home, right?

America has adoption agencies that "sorta" take care of kids. In places like Africa, where the majority of the population lives in decrepit conditions year round, it is nice to see humanitarian efforts reach. I highly doubt many Africans can afford to give abandoned African kids a good life.

Remember, although there are poor people in nations like the US, there are much much poorer people elsewhere. Let's look at it as a global effort to eliminate poverty.

Hopefully Jolie is doing it for honourable reasons, and not just to be politically correct. I will not judge, as I have yet to do the same.

She is a modern day Josephine Baker. I think that she is trying to prove a point that all cultures and races need to come together and support one another. All her children are grogeous. She is not the only one adopting outside of the US. There are many people adopting children from other countries and no one says anything about that but as soon as a celebrity does its a big overrated event. If she wants to have a multi-culturual family so be it! I give her props for stepping outside the norm!

So what some people are saying is that we should help other countries out by adopting there children when we have just as many orphaned children here in the USA.. We need to take care of what is in our own back yard before we go trying to make things all better else where in the world.. But that could lead to other convos. that we will not get into in here...

I like your question. I truly love seeing her, Bono, The Gates spending some of their MILLIONS to help those in need. I think it's wonderful. But, I am a little bothered that their help is focused on other countries. There are SO many American kids who need help!! In my area alone, there is a HUGE need for adults volunteer to at least be foster parents. Last year in my state, several THOUSAND children had to be in group homes instead of a HOME. That's in ONE state. How many THOUSANDS in our own country do not have a home to call their own?

One would assume that there is something about these children that spoke to her heart. Also, adopting an American child might complicate things alot more. Could you see the media hounding her for answers about the origins of the child? If the birth mother found out, she could make demands.

I think because even though americans still havent solve this, they have places that kids can go when they are hungry. We, poor countries, don't... if a kid is abandoned... off to the street and hopefully he is old enough to speak cos if not he won't be able to even ask people for something. We, poor countries have it so much worst.

Or maybe she just likes the race.

America respect Angie so she want other states to respect her!
P.S
if she wants to adopt more why don't she come in Serbia
here are a lot of kids without a family and home where they live is worse than in a prison
and in prisons are also serving better food!!!
THAT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because she's a politically correct liberal. She probably thinks of herself as a world citizen instead of an American.
