I just read various sites regarding this issue. The correct figure is 2500 detainees not 1000.

I don't know the figures, but unfortunately it IS true.
American TV - and the TV of their allies - conveniently forget to report these sickening facts. They also forget to report the fact that when Israeli soldiers take a man in for questioning, they take his under-age daughter too - if he has one. When they release the man for lack of evidence, they frequently keep the girl. Officially no-one knows what happens to these girls, but I think it's pretty damned obvious what grouchy soldiers are going to do with them.
Incidentally, America could accurately be called a "backward totalitarian state" when it comes to propaganda. Especially when it comes to their pet Israel, or their victims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, and any others that I can't remember off-hand.

i take it you have witnessed this first hand then. or are you another of these that hates the west and there values, but still lives there receiving money wearing the stlye clothes and buying houses etc. So how do you back this up factually. because we all know some elements of the press state false reports. The Sport paper a couple of years ago said Elvis was working in the UK. now we all know that is crap as he working in Norway as a ski instructor.

This is another one of those examples of rumors that incite violence. If you actually believe that the Israelis would, after the history of the Holocaust, do something like this tells me that you would believe that there are many virgins waiting just for you in paradise. And will you be disappointed when you get there and you stand alone with what you did in your life. Sorry - please research before you put statements like this out there---OK?
