Just wondering what else you can do on the DS - thinking of buying one

The DS is the best gaming handheld around, the stylus is so easy and natural tro use I can't imagine anyone wanting to do anything else apart from gaming...but...

They are releasing an Opera based browser for it so you can surf the web over wifi, initially just being released in Japan but I imagine it will filter to US and eventually Europe. From what I have read of people that have tested it, it is very good and easy to use despite the small screens...I have also heard rumours of a tv tuner like on the old Sega Game Gear....

Here are some link so you can read about it more:

Hope this helps.

ps. I love Animal Crossing, Meteos & Advance Wars...all classics!!!!

EDIT: I chose a DS Lite over a PSP because:

1) Original games and original ways to play them.
2) Cheaper - way cheaper!
3) PSP tries to be everything but fails at gaming which is what I wanted.
4) Smaller - easily fits in my shirt pocket for work.
5) Longer battery life - just whats needed for a portable system.

Basically if you want games, good games get a DS, if you want to watch movies, listen to mp'3 then get the PSP.

The guy above talks about streaming games from memory card, although this is piracy and obviously I cannot condone it you can also do this on the DS, check the web if you are interested because I won't give any links here.

as far as i can tell, gaming is just about it, get a PSP instead.

What worm is saying may be true (apart from it being the best handheld around, thats a load of rubbish) but the PSP can already do all of that stuff, web browsing, online gaming, movies, music, homemade games, real games streamed off the memory stick (if you know how), view photos and with the currently thriving homebrew scene taking off again, I couldnt see any reason for someone to choose a DS over a PSP!

Play mp3, watch films and tv. You need to buy extras to do this, have a look on ebay. Also chat on the DS.
