Depends on the kind of surgery, usually you aren't supposed to eat anything after midnight because of anesthesia reaction concerns, but w/o knowing what kind of surgery you're having I can't recommend anything else. Call your doctor's office and ask. =)

Normally your physician will suggest fasting the night before. If you are on meds ask your physician if you should take these before your surgery. Always shower. And to the best of your ability remain calm, everyone get nervous but the more deep breaths and thoughts of calming things makes it easier.

if you're going to have general anesthesia, no food or drink, but you should really ask a doctor.
