Sometimes, when there are things we dont like about ourselves, we project that feeling of hatred or that insecurity onto other people, which is why it may seem that someone hates another person or group of people, or class of people, when in reality, it is themselves they have a problem with.

Somehow, somewhere, the terms "femme", "butch" and "boi" came into effect for lesbians to describe their physical appearance and personality. Most lesbians do not hate men, regardless of whether they dress like one. They just do not have a desire to have sexual relations with a man. Lesbians who dress like men may not have as strong a necessity to conform to what society feels a woman should look like, as well they may not feel comfortable in typical women's attire. This may also attribute to a desire to be the dominent figure regarding the sexuality of the relationship in regards to who is more passive and who is more aggressive.

My partner is a butch. She has always been a tomboy even as far back as a little child. She plainly remembers HATING to wear dresses and foo-foo stuff. It's just NOT how she is comfortable. She will not wear women's clothes but she is not masculine to the point where you can't tell she's a woman either. I, on the other hand, am so feminine it's not funny! We're a good match for each other.

Lesbian dont HATE men at least not all of them. They're just not attracted to them in any way. There arent many lesbians that actually wanna be men. They are just more comfy in mens clothing. I even think mens clothing is comfy. I love my basketball shorts and wife beaters. Who wants to walk around all tight and lifted all day everyday? I know I dont. I dont wanna be a man, but I dont want my @$$ cheeks sqeezing out my shorts either.

Good question.. I have wondered that myself too!
also.. I dont understand why lesbians (stud) use strapons.. Your a lesbian you are in no way sexually attracted to men yet you dress/look and now are having sex like one! I just dont understand it!
Im in a same sex relationship and we both were with men before each other and we havent ever thought of using one!

First of all who told you lesbians hate men? They just don't want to have sex with them. The ones that dress more masculine feel more comfortable that way.

I think more straight women are man haters. I have to agree with RedCat here, you must not know any lesbians. Butch lesbians may indeed wear men's clothes, but that just because that's what they like to wear. Wearing girlie clothes is just as uncomfortable for them as it would be for you. That doesn't mean they want to be men.

obviously, Matt, you, and the 1st couple responders here, are not only not gay, but don't know anyone personally who is gay/lesbian. you're stereotyping.
I don't, nor does any other lesbian that I know, hate men. we simply are not physically attracted to them...there's a difference. not wanted to sleep with a man, doesn't mean we hate them.
as far as looking masculine or femme, everyone is different. and I don't mean just gay/lesbian. I see femme looking straight men, and masculine looking straight women as well. everyone has different tastes, and it doesn't just apply to gays/lesbians.
don't "label" and make assumptions about things you don't know anything about.
or, maybe you're just trying to learn something? you need some gay friends! LOL!

What makes you think lesbians "hate" men? I know a few butch lesbians and some of their best friends are men. I think people are who they are

good question. i mean, i would think they would want to look attractive. i've seen some fantastic looking lesbians but at the same time they are paired with a woman who looks worse as a man, than a man does.
it doesn't make sense to me.
i would think if i was going to attract another woman (assuming iwas a woman) i would want to seek one that was gorgeous and want to be as good for her as i could be, and dress as nice and take care of myself as much as i could.
my wife and i have been married 25 years and i have only gained about 12 pounds in all that time and continue to work out and eat well because i want to make sure i live long for her and to look good for her. she feels and does the same thing.
