The 12th man in football are the fans. They are always there, in the stadium to support players, to encourage them, to sing and fight for them in good weather and bad weather happens what it happens, a victory or a defeat. It's like they're playing too, they're winning or loosing too.

The 12th man is usually the crowd/supporters or the fans. In the World Cup, there's actually a section called the 12th man that's dedicated to the best fan during the tournament.
