The only way that a "fortune teller" can make an accurate prediction is either by making a good guess based upon their intellectual assessment of current trends or supernaturally by the prompting of seducing spirits who seek to lead people away from God.
It's not that these spirits know the future or anything. But they can know things that people are planning that other people don't know about. For instance, if some fortune teller had predicted the 9/11 disaster a spirit who was aware of the terrorist plot could have passed along that knowledge to the person.
Or an evil spirit might be planning on doing something on it's own and it can use a fortune teller to announce it's plans. Only God knows what the future truly holds. That's why I don't mess around with fortune tellers who are either phonies, or worse yet, being used by demonic forces.

With tellers, it is hard to say. Googlywotsit, is right. Martin S is however, mis informed. Not wrong, just mis informed. Yes there are charletons and frauds. But some of us, are connected in with the Spiritual side. And some are connected with a dark side. I myself choose a path of light. I did readings for years. From aura, to palm, to family members who have passed, to cards and so on and on some I did charge, but a lot less than what other people charge, no matter how long it took. I do not consider my gifts to be evil. I have been a spiritual practioner, tho I am not truely Pagan or Wiccan, and I am not Truely a Christian. I believe in all possiblities, and that we do stem from a Creative force, divided up between Masculine and Feminin Energy (others will say God and Goddess, all apply). I believe my power lies with in my self and my connection to the Higher Power. To help and heal, and to give insight to people who need it. I still do my readings, and I have an accuracy of 80-90%. But with destiny, all doors are open. If you didnt like the reading, figure out what she said, and have the freedom to change it. We are all in control of our destinies, tho sometimes we don't see it.
And to the remark about 9/11 attack that "Martin S", had mentioned, there are more things in heaven and earth than what our minds can percieve. Before it happened, and this goes with Katrina as well, I felt severe pain. I knew that there was something that was going to happen, tho I did not know that it was going to be that bad. We do not know what the morrow brings, we can hope and pray that everything will be safe. I have had many predictions that come true, some not. But, we are all connected, everything affects everyone. So, be safe in your journey. Keep on the course of Light.
When it comes to your future...the cards just merely point out possiblities. It is not written down that you have to do certain things, but these things play parts in what happens next.

If you paid for the service in any way, YES it was fraudulent and not worthy of your worry, my friend.
Anyway. The foretelling of the future, can only tell you of the POSSIBLE future. Once you know of events to come, you then have the ability to change them. Parallel realities-each and every action and consequence happens. If for example, you were told that you would be killed in a car accident, you could simply live far from traffic for the rest of your life, therefore, changing your reality to be. In another parallel reality, you would indeed die via a car accident. The future is not set in stone, there are an infinite amount of endings; they all happen, just in separate dimensions/realities. The fortune teller may well have seen your future, the question is which one?

i read tarot, and my nana was a psychic some people have the gift (my nana), some people can B.S. (me). The important thing is that even those who B.S. you get their information from signals you give them, this is not false information but possibly an exaggeration of the truth. This is why some psychics are "close" but not quite 100% right. So either way the guidance and advise you take away from any psychic, palm reader etc., remember that at the base no matter how gifted...is just that advise, only you can change your fate.

There has never be a so called psychic who has witstood scientific scrutiny. Every time their so called powers are tested in a fair and unbiased environment, they fail. I will believe psychics when they can give concrete proof of their powers.
I think people who consult them are looking for an excuse not to take charge of their lives and futures. It is easier to believe the future is already written, than working hard to build the future you want.

I think that some people are truly psychic. However, there's no way to know if your woman was or not. A lot of them just "think" they have a gift. A lot of others are crooks. I have had one reading done about a year ago, that then shocked me as not realistic, that is actually unfolding just the way it was told to me.

Many are scams, just playing on people's emotions and a few are really good guessers because they can read people very well and they listen intently to everything you say to them.
But a few are truly gifted and can give remarkably accurate readings.

all of the things that they say generally just happen to be coincidental or very general. they say, for example: something will change in your life today. well - life changes every day. "you will have a painful experience" um...always.
by making general statements and reading how you react to what they say tells them a lot about you. if they say something about emotional hurt and see that his makes a kind of reaction in you, they know they are on the right track and will keep going.
