Trust me, its a big country with lots of folks none the least bit arrogant, sorry you've met a few asses!

Americans are not arrogant at all just sure of themselves.they have never been kept down as some countries have.
I am not saying they are all Einsteins but they are to be admired for being so positive and confident.
There is only one man in America that i should say is truly arrogant and that is George bush, I cannot stand the man,he comes across and walks like a chimpanzee. what a hate hateful figure of a man and i gather he is as thick as the proverbial manchester p### stone.

well, there's certainly been a lot of arrogance on this site already, but anyway. As an American, I try not to be arrogant, but hey, I'm human, so I probably am sometimes. However, the people portrayed by the media do tend to be arrogant. You'll find that there are plenty of nice, kind, people too in the US.

Americans are great, in their own country. Take them out of it, on vacation or business, oh brother! You can always tell when a person is American in another country on vacation, business due to their over loud, demanding, and arrogant ways. Sad but true.

Not all americans are arrogant, and not all of them come across that way.
The only place where I have seen a uniform arrogance is probably Kuwait.

No Americans are not arrogant. They are ignorants with bad attitude.
For someone be arrogant it has to be better than someone else and this isn't their case at all.

It's an AmeriKan trait to be BOTH ignorant AND arrogant and being a know-it-all too is just icing on the cake....
This is why the rest of the world hates AmeriKans but they are too closed minded to hear it.

I can see why you would ask that. Most Americans are just uptight, and if you go down south to say Florida, they will say that people from let's say Connecticut are arrogant and uptight. So yes, I suppose we are, although, myself and my friends are not. I can't stand arrogance.

Most of us are arrogant because we ARE superior! We are the world's superpower and we have the abliity to dominate any country or government at will.

I think it is more the American government (especially "King" George and his buddies) that is arrogant than the people who live there.
