Hi guys,

I am planning to do heavy cardio excercises for the detoxification on my body.

What I worry is, I do not want my body to get used to the strengh I put on, everytime I do the excercise

Do I have to do the cardio excercise like in every second days or so, in order to avoid my body to the "getting-used to"?

It looks like the only cardio excercise I can do at this moment is mountain hiking (which means I will do only this over and over for a while...)

And how many times can I do the excercise per a week?

How long should I take break to let my body to repair itself?

thank you.

There is no exact formula for cardio exercises, but doing exercises while expecting not to gain strength is highly impossible... After all, the point of exercising is to keep the body vigorous and at the sametime, make it strong??

There is no "avoid my body to the "getting-used to"?". Rather you can try alternating between different cardio work out, eg alternate jogging, swimming, long distance run, short distance runs etc on different days, so the body would not become accustomed to a single exercise. Diversity is key.
The reason for not wanting to get used to a workout is not because of strength gain, which should be seen as positive, but rather, because if the body gets used to a workout, the work out would thus not be as efficient or as beneficial for the body. Even so, this can be countered by increasing the intensity of the workout, eg increasing speed and distance of run etc.

There is no limit on how many time one can exercise per week, rather see it as how much your body, depending of level of fitness you are on, or level of fitness you want to attain. As for how long it takes for the muscle to regenerate? Most research agrees on 24hrs or so, depending on level of fitness, but that will be more relevant for weights, less so for cardio.

Hopefully this helps, good luck with your workout!!

a cardio excercise can be anything that gets your heart rate up for over 30 minutes. mountain hiking is a good one - fresh air, low impact, good scenery, and less chance of getting bored with it.

the most important thing is to listen to your body. if your legs feel sore, stretch them out and rest a day.
for beginners, its best to rest a day between each long workout. as you get used to it, you can increase to every day if you feel like it. but you dont have to, you can still go every other day and get great benefits.
