Okay, so there is a kid(s) that continuously "doorbell ditchers" our house late at night. It's become a serious headache to me and my family. Is there anyway to somehow catch this person(s) that would be legal and inexpensive, besides waiting around for them all night?

elementary, Set them up. in case your son, daughter or you know who they are set them up. refer to them a million on a million say i know its your ding dong ditching they are going to likely say no guy i'd in no way. provide them a actual good look putting forward you belive them then causally ask them now to not do it tonite because you've a very extremely significant assembly at your residence about 10ish. you've set them up now there provoked and are like fish on a hook you've were given there interest and there likely going to opt for it. and then purely wait at your door round 10ish and once you listen ding ding ding ding open that door so quickly they wont know what got here about also shop a flash mild if its darkish. best of success

Install a motion sensor light or string a wire across the front step with a bell attached to it. Both will surprize the heck out of them.

You can buy a motion-activated digital security camera online. My boyfriend did this to catch some wacko who was pouring coffee on his moped (and once, pancakes)! Good luck!

You could rig the doorbell to give them a nasty shock, that should solve your problem.
