1) HTML and JAVASCRIPT: They both are languages
2) HTML and JAVASCRIPT: They both needs codes for working
3) HTML and JAVASCRIPT: They both are used in designing of Web pages

DIFFERENCES:
1) HTML: It begins and Ends with and tags
JAVASCRIPT: it begins and ends with tags
2) HTML: It can hold Javascript code
JAVASCRIPT: It cannot hold an HTML code
3)HTML: It is not an Oject Language
JAVASCIPT: It is an Object Language

HTML is a markup language which is used for presentation of the data and Javascript is at the logical side, used to validate any data or do more smarter things like dynamically change the page appearance. Anyway there are no similarities between these two.

The similarities of those two is the fact that they are both languages that are interpreted by the browser. They are both used in html pages and are used worldwide.

The differences is most likely the syntax. Html uses open and closed "tags". They have a very organized style of layout so that the browser can convert them into how we want it displayed on our webpages. Javascript has a C/C++ style of coding and they are usually used in html pages and are incorporated WITH html so that it does functions that html itself cannot handle on its own.
