Originally, the words meant the same thing and were used interchangeably. Today, though, pictures are hung (inanimate objects) and people are hanged (where they still use hanging when executing people).

In grade college, (ok-8), contained in the 1950's, we were taught that the words were carry, hung, hanged. What befell to the language on the grounds that then?? Did you carry the images? sure, I hung all of them. He became chanced on hung by employing a belt contained in the closet. Drag, drug, dragged. it sort of feels that the language is re-written to delight the journalist writing a piece of writing for the information. are you able to drag that chair over right here? The rider became drug behind his horse. He became dragged for one hundred ft. in the adventure that they could bypass decrease back to creating use of the English language that became taught contained in the early years, we would not be in a quandry about using words. purely my opinion from an ol' timer.

When someone asks, "How are you doing?"
You are better off if you can answer "I am hanging in there" than you are if you have to answer, "I am being hanged in there."
Of course the best of all is if you can answer, "I am well hung in there." (just a little lexicon humor)
Now for the real answer: 'hung' is for pictures; 'hanged' is for people.
