How do you think the Red Wings will do without their two leader(Stevie and Shanny). They also have a bad goalie and need another one.

it is definately going to be different watching the wings with out stevie, but the redwings have become somewhat like the yankees. they have an owner that doesnt mind spending money on free agents ( although he isnt a nut case) they have unbelievable young talent in datsyuk and zetteberg. their defense still has nick lidstrom who has been by far the most dominant defenseman in the last 10yrs and seams recharged now. even though chelly is getting ancient i am pretty sure their isnt a team out their doesnt want him or wouldnt take him for the salary he is going to take this yr. they have a strong developmental program and great scouts. the only real question i see is their goaltending and that doesnt worry me to much either. i think we as nhl fans and especially redwing fans hate to see an era end like stevie y leaving. however i am very happy for him and the fact that he went out before it was too late. i am sadened not to see the redwings with out him and shanny but life goes on we all knew some day it would happen. but that organization is to deep with talent from the owner on down for this to be a rebuilding yr. the redwings do not have rebuilding yrs. their are a few organizations out thier in every sport that can boast that and in hockey it is detroit. they will be fine and infact i think this is the little bit of motivation that team may have needed to show they are the cream of the crop yr in and yr out

I think the Wings will be fine. Yes they lost 3 important people, Stevie Y, Shanny and Manny but they still have a good core team left other than goaltending. That is going to make all the difference. If they sign Belfour or resign Hasek then when they get knocked out of the playoffs the first round or don't even make the playoffs then when they blame the goalie for not making it this will be the first time they are correct in blaming the goalie!!!!!!

ozzie and whoever they sign will be ok becuz the defense was pretty good last year except in the playoffs. the problem is not just goaltending. the two strongest leaders are gone and they have one great one left : lidstrom. he may be the next captain if they don't choose zetterberg or draper. as far as offense, zetterberg, holmstrom, and datsyuk need to find ways to score. the team will need to be playing as one at the right time to have a long ,productive playoff run next season if they make it this season. i think they will be no lower than fourth or fifth in the standings. the wings will be a younger team with some veterans. i think they be better than chicago, columbus and st louis. nashville will win the division. i don't really think they will do too bad overall. now they can focus on winning the big games in the west against the younger teams and not worry about being the best in the west point wise every year. legace was done wrong. there is nothing he could have done to keep his spot after losing. the fans run the goalies out of town if they fail in the playoffs. playing goalie in detroit is the second hardest position besides being the lions' quarterback. the fans blame the goalie first when they need to be angry at the whole team instead. to sum it all up: seed 4 or 5. 2nd in division. 90 points.

The playoff series against Edmonton proved that if the Wings are going to succeed in the playoffs, they have to get some younger blood in the lineup. There is no doubt that they will make the playoffs, but they just couldn't keep with oilers speed. If they can get some quicker players that can take the pressure of Datsyuk, Zetts, and Drapes then they just might have a good chance at hoisting Lord Stanley again. I will miss Stevie Y, he was probably the classiest player in the league.

The Wings will make the playoffs as a low seed team this year. A President's Trophy team doesn't get bad enough to miss the playoffs that quickly. If the Wings played in the Northwest or Pacific Division, they'd juuuuuuust miss the playoffs. Since they play in the weak Central Division (with bottom feeders Chicago, Colombus, and St. Louis), I think they'll be a playoff team with low Stanley Cup hopes. This prediction is based on the idea that Detroit will get a big name player sometime during free agency. However, if its an aging veteran forward, the Wings may be in big trouble (they're not the fastest team to begin with).

I am not a Detroit Red Wings fan but after looking at their line-up and the players that they have signed for this next season, I think they have an excellent chance of having another top notch regular season in the NHL. It was time for Stevie Y to retire and I am glad that Shannahan has moved on as well... They are going to have to prove themselves come playoff time but they might go far...

properly. surely, no. The Pens are in too deep. They were by no potential fairly envisioned to win the sequence. except by employing the Pens followers hopefuls. I propose, you recognize even as a crew is playing at that is optimal, and by no potential popping out on accurate that they are no longer as strong because the competition. The Wings are the perfect crew contained in the NHL now. I propose yeah, the Pens ought to pull out one win. possibly. i must be shown incorrect, yet that is purely my prediction. Osgood is on hearth, extra perfect than he's been doing contained in the commonplace season, the Pens are popping out unlucky on each and every shot, the Wings have 2 video games safe practices, and are available on, their crew is composed of no longer something yet stars! I hate the Pens, and that i favor the Wings to comb them. EDIT: i recognize the Caps, yet they're obviously no longer as strong because the Wings. The Pens coming decrease back from a 2 recreation deficit contained in the Caps/Pens sequence is way distinct from them coming decrease back from the same difficulty antagonistic to the Wings. AND Crosby is the hockey parallel of LeBron James! puffed up and purely ridiculous.

LOL, don't sit there and say that Manny wasn't completely at fault for the Red Wings getting eliminated in the first round. He blew it...he couldn't stop a beach ball, for hell's sake.

Its gonna suck without Manny, Steve and Brendan.
The team will struggle to fill the slots and then the goalies will kill them.
I think the new chant should be FIRE HOLLAND! and Millen.
