Supposed to be able to tell if a diamond is real by putting on a line on paper or small lettering. They say if it is blurred it is a real diamond.I never know if you put it on it's top flat side or on it's side where its cut.

Looking a little deeper.I found out that Diamonds don't have blue flourescent. Thats how a jeweler tells so easily the difference. www.czplatium.com. And also diamonds are not the only gem that will cut glass the site I read that gave 10 examples. To name a few, Topaz,Quartz,

No this is far from an accurate way to be able to tell a genuine from a fake. The only real way to tell if the stone is indeed a real diamond is to take it to a trusted jeweler.
Jewelers loupes are fairly good in telling the really cheap stuff like cubic zirconia from a real diamond, but with all the new synthetic stuff around it actually needs to be analyized by more accurate equipment that will be available at most reputable jewelry stores.
