Kalamaki has changed quite a bit over the past few years and the resort is now spread out over a fairly large area. Fortunately most of the development has been concentrated on the main Kalamaki to Laganas road leaving the beach area and back roads relatively undisturbed. The original character of the resort is still there. The bars, restaurants and people who first made it popular are still here. The Cave Bar shown left, has hardly changed over the years, and still offers something unique. It's the closest resort to the airport and although there are no night flights, several planes land just after 6.00 AM. Only the western part of the resort is affected and otherwise the resort is fairly quiet and relaxing. It's a good location, close to Laganas, Zante Town and Argassi. Laganas is only a five minute taxi ride away, and taxis run until the early hours of the morning. Don't worry if you don't have a pool as there are plenty of pool bars which are open to the public.

I went to Laganas in 2002.Beautiful Island(zante).I would go again at the drop of a hat but this time I would go without the psyco b**** I was seeing at the time!!

She did pay for it though .I dont mean I killed her or anything...she actually paid for the whole holiday ;)

Hire a bike and explore the island. There are many hidden treasures like secluded beaches etc.If you get the chance go on the boat trip that circles the island.I did and I was steaming drunk! It took me 2hrs. to realise that my ex had actually got back off the boat before we set sail! Also left my brand new trainers on board. What a day..9 hours of peace!!

Plan on spending nice afternoons on the beach and pleasant
evenings in the local tavernas(pubs). Sleep late if you want.
The world will still be there when you get up.
