For my sociology thesis I am researching attitudes to adult incest, particularly sibling love. I would like to hear from anyone who has views on such love, either positive or negative, sensible replies please. I would especially like to hear from anything who has been a consenting partner to such love and how it has affected your life.

Incests do exist, we all have read. I heard some fathers marrying the daughter because of financial problem or because of not finding even a single boy whom they can afford to marry.
Perhaps physical need is more powerful than ur social barriers when brother and sister or father and daughter are alone and perhaps lonely or when they are too comfortable with eath other.
I have also heard about situation where mother and son having sex because they both are alone in the house and son could not get married.
Sex is a physical desire and perhaps u r in trap of it sometimes and barriers are broken.
Since most of the barriers are made by society not the GOD, if someone really analyses without being biased, Why did not GOD provide something too unattractive to have sex when it comes to real brothers and sisters or fathers etc.
Did he really ever wanted that we should not have sex in close relations?
We all know the scientific reason of avoiding close marriages (because of deformed offsprings) but what if children is not required.
Is there any side effect of having sex in close relations? Not sure.

I am in a consensual incest relationship with my brother, and it has been a wonderful experience.

Personally i have never encountered that kind of thing. However, when dealing with such a taboo subject it's important to look at things in a different way.
I would imagine that in many cases there are different factors that come into play when dealing with a topic like this such as background, family stability, etc etc. Undoubtedly there will be the exceptions to that, but aren't there always?
Because of the structure of our society from a young age people are conditioned in to thinking a certain way. You are taught right from wrong and incest is one of those "wrongs"... We accept that because very few people would admitt to having these kind of feelings due to fearing the repercussions and because of that fact very little is known about on the subject ( i mean that socially) It's a bit like how society viewed the mentally ill 30 years ago.
So it's hard for people to understand why others would find that kind of behaviour acceptable because it's alien to them.
All that being said, i don''t have any feeling of disgust about it. It's not personally what i would do but then, I'm not the person involved.

Human nature is such that anyone do not feel much sexual attarction towards the men or women who is too close and grown up together . On the otherhand society teach us as it is wrong. So Most of the people do not feel interest incest love. But most of the thing have some exception. Some guys feel sexual attarction to their mother or sister. Some times it is occured but remain hide. As it is consider wrong by society, sometimes they feel guilty.
It is not prohibited by medical view . Thousand years ago human know very little about medical science. It is prohibited only because normal people do not feel attraction towards this because of some psychological reason with grown up and living together from many years.

its funny how society makes the rules. from a medical point of view a family from such a relationship would probably not be a good idea (unless you were looking to breed a new three legged race world champion) but in terms of a private relationship between two consenting adults its hard to say that anyone else should have any right to stop it.
i thought we were free to choose our own path.
just not with my sister though dude. i dont think its something id be up for. no, all the absinthe in the world wouldn't pursuade me to get on my sis.

I've just finished my Sociology A-Level so I'll try to be of help...
I think that incest is wrong in most aspects: mainly brother/sister, mother/son etc but not so much relationships between people that are siblings in name alone with no blood tie. If such incestuous relationships result in children, the gene pool is narrowed and 'mutant' babies can result.

i think its sick...i mean in most cases, its siblings who've been seperated at a young age...n coincidence they end up hooking up...but once u find out that youre bro n sis...how can u possibly continue to look at that person the same way???, and have the guts to lay down like man and wife...thats sick!!! this is not victorian times...family r not suposd 2 sleep wiv family...weve moved on as a society and a world... its just unthinkable...i cant even imagine wlking in on my bro n his girl avin sex...let alone do it wiv him...personally...its a different form of schizophrenia 2 me...cos i dont no how the human mind would even rationalise such a thing.

I have heard stories of incest happening but me personally i think it is very wrong. We are a civilised society (well at least we are meant to be) and i don't think it is something that should be tolerated. How can you go on to have a sexual relationship with someone who was brought up as your brother or sister? I am not even convinced that cousins should be allowed to marry! Then you have the issue of children born in these relationships. They could me born with all sorts of problems. Is it fair to them to explain the sick way in which they were conceived?

Sometimes, the only people who understand our problems are our siblings... And that understanding brings them together in mutual fear or other strong emotions... And that togetherness leads, sometimes, to actions that are considered to be wrong when viewed with 20/20 hindsight...
