Both are vital to our survival, and I'm sure that the vegetable feels as much "pain" as the tree.

Because some of the trees that are being cut down are literally hundreds of years old and they wont grow back as fast as vegetables. Also most vegetables WANT to be eaten as many of thier seeds need to pass through a digestive system in order to be spread around and in some cases seeds are incapable of growing unless they pass through and animal. Also most vegetable plants only live long enough to produce thier fruit/vegetable/seeds and then they die so you might as well eat them before they go to waste. Trees are not meant to be harvested in the way vegetables are....it wouldnt be a problem if we only harvested the trees sees or fruit or some of its wood.

It's ok to cut down a tree when it's diseased and if you plant a new one.
The vegetable is a friut of a vine or tree. The tree and the plant respond to vocal stimuli, but the fruit does not.

Well trees produce more oxygen and as far as I'm concerned eating something is a better reason to kill it than wiping your a** with the paper you get from the tree...

Trees supply oxygen for us to breathe. I wouldn't mind if you cut down a tree as long as you stopped breathing.

okay letz say you hav a jackfruit tree and tomato plant. now, if you cut the jackfruit tree and plant another one, it'll take ages to grow and giv fruit! but if you plucked and ate all the tomatoes from the tomato plant, a week later there'll be more new tomatoes growin on it. veggies are quicker and easier to grow, whereas a tree takes years and years to like .. grow and give fruit and stuff.
