Strange question.Everything is in our mind, hence our mentality leads, so if you have experienced some troubling your inner peace events, do whatever make you feel better. Move from the city, if that'll help you..Best of luck!

Yes, it's probably psychological but a new start, in a new environment, can really help some people move on, be happier, learn to get over their bad memories. I'm guessing that the person with the memories wants to move and you don't?

If they need to move, why not move together to somewhere different and more exciting for you both? That way you can share the adventure, both gain new experiences and hopefully both end up happier as a result.

I don't know the circumstances, but you might find that giving someone the opportunity to get away, mature and reflect, may help them to revisit the places they so despise at the moment and lay the bad memories to rest. Staying near those places and being constanltly reminded of them will not help anyone to move on and be more positive.

Try to look at it in a positive light for both of you - it might just be the best thing you ever did.

Good luck!

NO, By moving out of the city you are like running away. This will not put an end to your memories. It may help but the memories WILL be there. Face the problem/s and DON'T let them win. I mean if your like talking abuse face it. KNOW that YOU are a victim and the person doing the abusing is the SCUM. He/she WILL ALWAYS be SCUM. Move on in your life and KNOW that you can and you ARE SOMEONE SPECIAL. Keep in mind I only use the above as an example only. You have a life as well as friends here. You will affect a lot of peoples lives by moving away. Now moving away for a job or for your spouse is another story. BUT because of your past. NO. GOOD LUCK.

Well if you have the money to move then go ahead. It's not very interesting to live in the same city all your life anyway. Look on the positive side of you bad memories: They give you a good reason to see more of the world.

Maybe if its the same place as these memories occured could be relevant! But most people I know who've had bad childhood memories normally move out of the area; not the city all together!

well, if it one place in a city, then no. If it bothers you that much just do not go near that area, there is no point in those unnecessary feelings. If they are all over the city, then maybe you should. But it may not help you overcome the problems you have because of what happened in the city. Make sure if you move that you get through those problems.

Yes, sometimes memories can trigger pain and sorrow that causes one to constantly be in a state of anxiety, depression and rage. If moving removes those triggers, it may be beneficial to start over until such time you are able to cope with the memories and pain. Unfortunately, many people won't understand what it's like to constantly live with constant triggers like that, but it does happen and it's not healthy for you mentally or physically. The body is not designed for constant, unrelenting stress. Do what you need to do to feel safe, secure and functional. All the best.

maybe . . . YES!

It's up to you!

and it's also up to the memories you've got.

If you think that that memories gonna stay with you even your out of that city and will always bother you, maybe its better if you just solve it first. But if not, maybe it's better to leave. It depends upon you . . .
