pete doherty continues to be the centre of attention and is on our tvs left right and centre. the british media love him.
then there is craig charles, who is set up by his driver, filmed taking hits in the privacy of his own car and is splashed all over the newspapers as some kind of monster.
why do we put up with these double standards?

I couldn't agree more, it's a joke and a sick one at that. Pete Doherty is the absolute pits! Why all the air time and column inches for a glorified sleazebag? I think he's a bit "emperor's new clothes" really - the Libertines, yes! Babyshambles - eek!! Did you see the recent pictures of him in a wheelchair at an airport?? He'll probably kick the bucket soon and be made out to be some sort of rock deity/legend. Wrong!

The journalists are all crack junkie whores anyway. Yet they preach sanctimoniously from some imaginary moral high ground. Doherty probably shifts units so they try and portray him as more interesting than he is. Craig Charles on the other hand is a sensationilist story but isn't as glamourous as Pete so is vilified for his actions - it makes no sense.

When you are working in the media their is no privacy, your life becomes public property. Sad but this is how it is. Newspapers etc.. print these stories because they know the public are interested in how the other half live and love a bit of scandal. So while people continue to buy for these stories then it will continue to happen.

one of the reasons craig charles was blasted more than pete docherty is the fact that he is a crack smoking rapist (he has done time for rape) and has absolutely no talent whatsoever he is a complete waste of space, Pete has also had a hard time with the press because of his drug taking and general stupidity with it, but I think he is more repsected because he at least faces up to and admits his problem and is someone who actually has some talent.

I don't put up with double standards. I do not watch celebrity trash, I have also never bought a tabloid paper and I never will.
If everyone would do as I do, the whole "problem" would solve itself and disappear.

Well, what can i Say.. I turn over that rubbish when it comes on! I rarely watch the news as its like repeating itself over and over! The newspapers are the same. If they did not sell , then they would not print that crap!
Like someone said.. 'catering for all our tastes' No matter how crap they might be!
