If it is in regards to a right-to-life debate, you may mean Karen Ann Quinlan, who went into a coma after dieting went to a party and drank and took tranquiliers and never came out of coma and was in a vegatative state for many years and her parents had to go all the way to the Supreme Court to have their daughter taken off life support as there was no hope she would ever recover.
