it depends on what exactly you're trying to do...

but, it is probably best to do both. swimming will give your muscles a workout and really tone them if you don't want to work out.

also, jogging and running in my opinion is the fastest way to lose fat.

BUT, if you're just asking the question swimming or jogging? i'd definitly have to say swimming because it's much more relaxing.

if both of them are as accesible to you.. I would recommend a combination of the two

swimming will give you a whole body aerobic workout, but it can get boring some times.. and not everyone has a pool in their back yard

jogging will also give you a good aerobic workout, but it has more impact on your leg joints ( anlkes, knees, hips ) so you might want to be careful.

Remember to warm up and down, very important to prevent injury.. and if the pool is close to you? why not jog there swim and jog back.. that would be a great workout

Swim. You get tan, work all the muscles in your body (provided to switch strokes), and it doesn't show when you sweat. Do interval training sprints and easier laps to get the most impact. Jogging's good for you too, but hard on the joints and doesn't work the upper body and abs in the way that swimming does.

SWIMMING! It's kind to your joints, especially your hips and your knees. For a really great workout, try jogging in water. It's aerobic -- you'll be amazed at just how aerobic it is -- and yet the water softens your landing so you don't jar your hip and knee joints.

Depends on yourself. I used to jog when I am in my earlier days but nowdays I swim occasionally.

although swimming works every muscle in the body, jogging is more practical, and in my opinion is more useful than swimming...

Tough one, I'd have to say swimming. "OMG, did I really say that?!?!?!?" Oh well, I guess it's because I love the feeling of floating on water, even though I'm pretty speedy, water is my element, I guess that's why, and look on the plus side, you can't sweat in the water!!!!
