it is between orbital pz and orbital d
NOT between pz and s

A sigma molecular bond may form between an s and adjacent pz atomic orbitals provided they are of the proper energy. Remember only atomic orbitals of similar energy levels can mix.

A pi bond may NOT be formed by an atomic s orbital at all. Pi bonds have a nodal plane where the wavefunctions are of opposite sign and can only be formed by atomic and molecular orbitals that exhibit a nodal plane.

An s atomic orbital exhibits no planer node (its wavefunction is spherically symmetrical).

Yes absolutely. You can form a sigma or a pi bond between the pz orbital and d-orbitals.
