My daughters hand me things all the time that kind of make you wonder where they came from. I ask my 2 1/2 year old "where did you get this?" and if she leads me to a place where she's not supposed to be then I tell her "no no we don't play in here" If it's my 1 year old howerver, she doesn't quite understand the "show me" concept.. needless to say she gets supervised a little closer than the 2 1/2 year old.

Quickly grab it away so it doesn't spill, then look for floaters, then wonder where it came from, then pour it out.

I would find some way to distract the child, and then pour it into the most convenient flower pot.
