downloading is getting stuff off the internet and storing it onto your computer. surfing is visiting web pages and just looking and reading them

Downloading means taking a file from the internet and actually putting it on your physical hard drive.

Surfing means just looking at different websites.

Right, surfing is the act of navigating on the web from site to site and page to page.

Downloading is the act of retrieving data from the internet, usually in the form of a file that can be saved locally on the PC.

Technically, when you surf, your browser is downloading content from that page in the background as you view it, saving that content locally. However, you don't generally hear the term "downloading" used in that context.

Surfing: is browsing through the web. One hops from one link to other. or searches for information.

Downloading: is wen u actually get file down from the intenet on to ur PC.
