Hi! It's time you go and consult a gynaecologist. You'll never know what ahs gone wrong inside you! By consulting a gynae, all the necessary actions will be taken such as scans, x-rays, etc. in order to determine the problems which has already started inside your body. It's no joke! Don't wait till it becomes very serious or else by then you will have to suffer more pain & agony, more money spent and more hassle of running to the hospital for tests frequently. Worst still, you may even have to go through surgery. The most scariest thing is....Touch wood!... if there's a malignant growth and has created soem havoc in your body, then no matter how much maoney you have there'll be no guarantee that it can be cured! So....prevention is better than cure because there might not be even a cure! Preventive measure is, no matter how, still the cheapest and is worth your trouble, time & money because you only live once!!! Hope you take heed! Just a little sincere sharing...Take care!

Are you using an intrauterine device -IUD-for contraception? any other method-pills, injections, patches?

Women that are using an IUD frequently have more abundant bleeding, with the description you mentioned. Another possible cause is to have a polyp, very frequent and sometimes quite upsetting.

Obesity brings some problems related with estrogen that might lead to increase the frequency of certain sort of polyps.
In most of the cases, they are benign lesions that have to be evaluated by an gynecologist.

For your own good and peace, just make a visit to your doctor and explain the same you are writing here. It is very important that all the women have their gynecological check ups in order to prevent disorders that can be taken care a lot better earlier.

Good luck, Froggy

Hi. I think the person to give most accurate would be a doctor. But from what you've said I think its just uterine linings thats discharged.

Periods can be irregular depending if the person it underweight or overweight. It all depends on stress levels and all too.

I hope this helps at all, and I recommend you see a gynaecologist, as she/he can evaluate your exact condition.

if you say that your periods are clotty and irregular i would visit your Gp to arrange for a smear test to rule ot any abnormalities in the first instance, it may be that your cycly is not in any pattern yet,the Gp may prescribe tablets to regulate your periods and put your mind at rest if the tests are ok

Possibly...
I have a friend who is 19 and obese; she dont even have a period! She went to the gyno and they told her to diet and exercise....It could be anything, I wouldn't say yes or no to obesity! You need to see a gyno!

there could be many different explinations, like dehidration, diet problems, low iron levels etc. i would say to to go the doctor and notify him of the problems. sometimes its hormaonal inbalances that lead to funny periods as well which can be controled with pills.

Go have a thorough check at your gynae's. You might have endometriosis, or a cyst that's obstructing the flow (explains the clots). Anyhow, it doesn't hurt to have it checked out by a qualified gynaecologist.

Probably nothing to do with you being obese. Have a gyne check you out.
