Florida:
warmer water
better snorkeling
more humid/muggy
calmer water
California:
cooler water
better waves
more attractions IMO (disneyland, magic mountain, hollywood, mexico is close, etc)
If I could only go to one, I'd probably say Cali....unless I wanted to scuba dive. Then Florida.

Florida. California is overrated. Florida has no hurricanes, just the occasional threat. Florida has more stuff. We have Disney World, Universal, Cruises, Key West, Busch Gardens, and so much more that you will fall asleep if I tell you all.

Both are great places, I lived in both. Florida is more humid, but it offers a great night life with clubs parties, you can check out the scenery during the day at the beach.
California depends on what part. If you choose a good location like San Diego. you have clubs, bars, beaches, skiing, Tijuana (Mexico), water activities all within driving distance.
It all depends on what you want to do.

Calif, has some of the greatest terrain. I live on the East coast, travel all through the state. The NapaValley Sanoma, Vineyards, great Victorian towns. LA, Santa Monica, great Hotels. San Diego, Zoo, Balboa Park , Cornodo Island. Of, San Francisco, wow, treat. Oh yes, live in Florida.

I have nothing at all against Florida--believe me here---But as a visitor--I think you're going to enjoy the stepped up craziness of California much better these days--some places in Florida are still working very hard to recover from the devestating hurricanes of the last lilttle while--and I'm thinking you probably don't want to subject yourself to that kind of input on a vacation---besides --in California--you have Hollywood and the beaches and the redwood forests and the super hyped lifestyle that is America on steroids (literally)
