Intelligent jokes/comics are not funny when no one can understand what they are.

Even if he is funny, he still is damn ugly!

Oh, yes, he is sometimes hillarious, but you have to know the subject he is ridiculing very well so you can appreciate his representation. I mean, Love and Death was a brilliant take on the Russian classics, one and all, but one wouldn't know what the issue was if he hadn't read... well, Tolstoy, Dostoyevski, Pushking, Gogol and company.
And the humour comes not from misrepresentation, as in straight parody, but in simply shifting the presumptions, and then using the same elements. It makes it confusing, at first glance, but after some thinking (and it takes thinking), you see the deeper issue he targets, and the way he makes what he thinks stupid to seem ridiculous. Very, very intelligent approach.
A similar thing with A Midsummer Night Sex Comedy... but with Shakespeare... and so on, and so forth...

i do no longer imagine so. Woody Allen has an truly city, strictly ny sort of comic sort. the yankee innuendos on city existence at the instantaneous are not even understood by employing mid-western us of a individuals. How do you assume muslims to understand him? a lot less locate him humorous? Muslims can not settle for a comic book difficulty which is composed of an extremely inner most, autonomous and inhibited factors of western existence. sex is fairly off limits to make it humorous, any comedy with sex, double meanings and liquor jokes would not artwork with muslims (liberal or no longer).
