I am in India. I have a porridge made of Nine different cereals, like rice, wheat, grams, beans, etc mixed with powdered Almond, Nutmeg, cinnamon, etc. It come readily grinded. To 1 cupful add 2 cups water, bring to slow boil. TRhen add milk half cup, jaggery to sweeten, stir continuously so it does not stick.Drink warm.
The breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The stomach has done its job by digesting the food all night, and is
ready toreceive the next lot.
The first meal is consumed and starts digesting instantly. Thats why good quantum of Protiens and carbohydrates are required, to give energetic start to the day.
Ovaltine costs Rs. 78/-per half kgs, whereas 9 ingredients cost Rs.26/-per kg. I am from lower=middle class, and my income does not permit me the luxury of Horlicks, Burnvita and glass ful of milk.
