It depends on what factors go into the calculation of hipness. For example, if it is a linear function based on the total number of sides, then you assertion is correct. However, I suspect that since the triangle in the simple polygon, then a linear function would have a different slope so that twice the hip would be associated with the hexagon. But this means that the octogon would thus be three times as hip! :-)

Hip to be square is in fact a lie perpetuated by that handtool of Satan Bill Nye. It is in fact elblow to be square and hip to to be straight. Hence, it is knee to be octagonal.
