Speaking as someone who is on my feet all day long, I will pay whatever it costs to make my feet, legs, hips, and back feel good.

Because it will greatly benefit you to get the right pair for your foot and what you plan to use them for. There are different shoes designed for basketball, running, hiking, so on and so forth. If you buy a cheap shoe the design will not be as strong and may break down quicker and offer less support where you need it. Plus cheaper shoes don't generally come designed for different arches. That is very important to maintaining a good balance and preventing injury.
