I prefer Canada as my permanent residence...but definitely enjoy a visit to the Southern States during a cold January/February stretch!

There's Much Less Violence in Canada...mainly due to the fact...we don't carry guns! (You're more likely to get Punched-Out, Pepper-Sprayed, or Stabbed at worst!)...I feel quite safe wandering out of a neighbourhood bar @ 2 am in Calgary, Alberta...I've seen fist-fights, just heard about stabbings in less-desireable areas, and have never witnessed a gunshot incident ever.

I can be in the Rocky Mountain Parks or in the Dinosaur-fossil-rich Badlands areas in a little over an hour...and often just check the weather report when I wake up & decide whether to head East or West...Some days it's poured rain all-day in Calgary & the Mountains, while I've sweated-out a hike thru the Badlands in 90F Heat! (Occasionally, it's the opposite. )

Besides, Canada is Hockey-Crazy & I live in an NHL Town...Go to as many Calgary Flames games as possible...& got seats to Games 4 & 6 of the 2004 Cup Final vs. Tampa Bay...What an incredible experience...I'll never forget the Energy in the Saddledome & the Craziness on the now famous " Red Mile."

Football?...Okay - U.S. has us beat there...but I can catch virtually any game on Satellite, or visit a Pub with a feed....Also, Season Tickets to see our CFL Stampeders play can be bought for about $300 & up!...and it's still Great Entertainment!

Beer?...Canada All-the-Way!!! How can You enjoy a beer that tastes like water?

My final reason for prefering Canada...is Cleanliness. We simply have far, far less pollution - understandably, as we have 1/10th the population - Our Cities, Countrysides, Lakes & Rivers are Pristine in comparison!

The USA :-) It's warmer down here, lower prices than Canada, and we are a first world country. Also because I'm proud to be an American; I would rather live nowhere else but here because I'm glad to have the freedom that I have had every since I was born.

USA...the farther north you get, the colder it is. Canada is just too darn cold for my preferences. Another reason is the economy, unless I lived in Canada and worked in the U.S.

Canada: I have lived here all my life and this is one of the greatest, cleanest most scenic countries. I have travelled all over the US and, no offense mean't, nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
