Make up does NOT cause wrinkles. Wrinkles are caused by a breakdown in elastin and collagen in the dermis layer of the skin. This breakdown can be attributed, in part, to lack of moisture. This breakdown will also naturally occur as you age (sorry, gravity does work). Make sure that you are following the 5 steps to skin care: Cleanse (to remove make up and impurities at the epidermis or outer layer), Exfoliate (to remove dry and dead skin cells at the epidermis layer), Refreshen/Tone/Freshen (to refine pores -- look for a toner/refresher that uses botanicals INSTEAD of alcohol which dries out the skin), MOISTURIZER (to hydrate the dermis and epidermis layer), and Protect (against environmental factors such as pollution and UVA/UVB rays). Yes, wrinkles are a fact of life, but make up DOES NOT cause them...and you can help yourself by making sure that you are following a good skin care program with quality products! Moisturizers are not just for women with dry skin...and they are NOT all heavy and oily feeling. Take care of your skin and wearing make up will not be a factor.

Makup does not give wrinkles. However, when you put on makeup, wrinkles may appear more obvious. That is simply because certian makeup accentuates wrinkles, ie dry powder. If you have an area that has lines, try to use a more dewy finish in the area. Don't pile it on either, it will just end up in the little lines. Less is more!
Your #1 anti-aging product is one that we all fail to wear on a daily basis, SUNSCREEN! Wear a minimum of 25 for daily activities. Much higher for days out in the sun, make sure to reapply on these days quite frequently.

I was eating some chocolate coated raisins the other day and I looked up the ingredients to the chocolate coating. It contained something called Titanium Dioxide, which I decided to look up on the net. I discovered that nano-particles of Titanium Dioxide are used in sunscreen and make-up. Its the nano particles (very fine particles) that penetrate the cell walls of the skin and cause damage. Nano particles can cause the cells to mutate. They are carcinogenic. That is probably why people who use these face covers (make-up) for years end up getting dry and wrinkled skin much earlier like my older sister, compared to people like my other sister or I, who only use natural, unrefined oil to keep the skin moist. The fact that your face continues to exude pimples is an indication that the chemicals in the face make-up are agitating the skin cells, and the cells in the skin are trying to get rid of the toxins. Diet may be influencing this also.
Please know that I care about you. Just because stores sell these products, and magazine models wear the stuff, doesn't mean its good for us. These products are sold to make the manufacturers rich.
Please think about it. You are beautiful , inside and out. You have no need to be influenced by these make-up manufacturers and their questionable products.
Sure it will take a few months to clear up your skin, but over time your skin will glow again, as it did when you were younger and never used the stuff.

Makeup actually protects against wrinkles- by giving the skin some protection from the rays of the sun. If your foundation, for example has an SPF, then you have really done yourself a favor in the aging department- LOTS of protection. Anything you put between your skin and the damaging rays on the sun and environmental pollutants is going to protect against aging. Furthermore, the trend toward chemical exfoliation is being found to actually speed up the aging process- why? Because removing the dead layers of the skin, is exposing the more of the living dermis to the sun!

Makeup WILL NOT cause wrinkles. Smoking, poor diet, dehydration, genetics and stress will cause wrinkles. If you wear makeup just be sure to keep your face clean before you go to sleep.

I've heard that the foundation and powder can do that. It takes a long time for that to happen though. The way that you can speed the process up is by going to bed with your make-up still on and not washing your face on a regular basis. Face it...we're all going to end up with wrinkes, with make-up or not makeup on. Wearing make-up just speeds up the process a bit. Right now i still have a lot of pimples so i like to cover them up. Once i don't have any i probably won't wear foundation as much anymore.
