I think it would be a good idea, it would send a powerful signal that diving and cheating will no longer be tolerated.

Yep. We give retroactive bans here in the Premier League for serious foul play etc, so I don't see why FIFA can't employ the same policy towards divers and cheats. Perhaps if FIFA did that, those guilty would think twice about doing it if they knew they could be brought to book at a later date and given a lengthy ban. After all a deterrent only works if there's a good chance of being caught. Players aren't deterred from cheating/ diving because they know that they can get away with it. TV evidence would be a good way to clamp out this practice...

look you are starting to sound like an air head sports writter Barry Wilner who obiously is a new writer to soccer. Soccer is a game that you have to grow into, and cannot make any assumptions or opinions by marely seen 18 games. If you haven't played soccer than you really dont know what diving is all about. For one I tell you diving prevents players from the oposite trying to pull hard intentional fouls anyone who has played the game knows that but writters and you who obviously havent played soccer don't know that. Yeah some are dramatic and can be considered inapropriate but is upto the referees (who believe me have seen many hard tackles, dives in their careers) to determine what to do about it. Also when the referees go into the games they know the history of every player in the field and is difficult for them to determine if some are really dives or where fouls. Where it comes to how good is the other team to play head games to win, is all strategy. KEEP WATCHING AND LEARN

Personally, I think FIFA should be looking at giving trophies for this particular activity, maybe a bronze pair of Speedos or even a BAFTA award for an outstanding performance. Afterall the art of good Diving is a skill practised by many but perfected by few.

Yeah players who commit too many fouls, and also those for whom the referee hasn't pointed.
Not only to players, but also to refs who make the game one-way by supporting their favourite team
