There is an old joke about friends.
A friend will pick you up from jail or bail you out.
A true friend will be sitting next to you in jail saying "Wasn't that fun?"
In life, we will have all kinds of friends. There will be casual friends (coworkers and friends of friends). Occasional friends, those that we have in college or for a short period, then drop and lose interest. There will be people who seem to be our friends but just want something.
But true friends will be there no matter what. They wont always take your side on things, but they will always stay your friend.

a true friend is there for life and will help support you in times of need like a shoulder to lean on or to cry on a true friend is a treasure that will never leave you in a mess and a true friend is as hard to find as a needle in a hay stack but once found will never lie to you.

I'm 41, I have a friend that has kept a secret for over 20 years. That is a true friend.
A friend is someone that will stand beside/behind you no matter what. Then kick your butt later (in private) when your wrong.

you need to be with them and share with them every thing you think of. the person who gets upset with your sorrows is a friend but a person who is happier than you are when you achieve a success in life is a true friend of yours.

(this only works if your friend has a bf/gf) go and say to them that their bf/gf asked you out. If your friend says its ok or something that sounds nice, your friend is true. if not, then you get the point...
