My father was a unicorn and hence I can confirm that the above answer is incorrect and unicorns are in fact a reality.
The unicorn (or Equus caballus hornicus to give it its latin name) is native to East London and parts of Tooting and Peckam. Now very rare due to their popularity in theme restaurants and the Eastern black market for unicorn horn which is used as a treatment for bleeding ears (see related thread).

Myth
"The unicorn is a legendary creature with the body of a horse, but with a single — usually spiral — horn growing out of its forehead "

Boringly, they were invented to explain long white horns that fishermen found on the beach back in olden times.
The horns actually came from norwhales...
Philosophically though, everyone on the planet has heard of them and everyone knows what they look like, so what is the difference if we don't actually see them kicking about being all pointy.
It's like dinosaurs innit, everyone knows what they look like but we don't go about calling them myths just cos the queen
hasn't got one...

I believe unicorns are real because I saw one in an Orbit gum commercial hanging out with Snoop Dog.

REAL! It just missed getting on Noah's ark by a few minutes. The male unicorn wouldn't stop and ask for directions.

The word unicorn occurs in the Bible. I dont know if it was the same animal that we relate to now or not. Bit I believe the Bible to be True.

it is a mythical creature which was given credibility by the occasional discovery of narwhal tusks which were said to be from unicorns.A narwhal is a whale related creature which has a large tusk/horn on its head,to be fair it looks even more mythical than the unicorn but it does exist.
