If it's not disrespectful, please can you recommend an online supplier or a supplier based in Cardiff? Thanks.

Hi there,
Most definitely NOT!
Its absolutely OK to wear a Saaree and or suit if you are EUROPEAN! Although - I must add that its advisable that you wear it gracefully and in the traditional manner!
Indians are proud of the fact that our clothing, food, brains are in high demand all over the world. Contrary to what the media potrays us as- we indians are quite liberal and open about others embracing our culture!
However- there is a difference between Embracing a culture and Embarassing it!
I encourage you to go AHEAD and wear the SAAREE!
Frankly- in India too girls wear jeans and skirts but a 6 metre LONG SAAREE can make a WOMAN look sexier than a 20 inch skirt!!
Dont take my word for it- try it out!

As far as stores are concerned- I am not aware- but you can check out ebay.in!

Best of Luck
(PS- do send me your pic in a saaree ;-) )

As some one that works in a area that a lot of women wear a Saree I can tell you that it will be ok, just find someone that can show you the right way to put it on before going out in it.
Do not know of anywhere in Cardiff but you could try Easton in Bristol.

It shouldn't be disrespectful, as those who wear Sari's and choli suit's also wear European clothing, but it depends on where you go and who sees you. You are more likely to get negative comments from Europeans I'll bet.

Oh for gods sake. Wear what you like love..

BUT only in the WEST. You may not wear European attire in some Muslim countries. You must conform and wear what they wear. FORTUNATELY for muslims, they don't have to conform in Europe.. (well only in France so far! hahaha)

I think they look funky - wouldn't know if it was disrespecful or not - you would need someone of the faith to answer that. Personally if it was me I would be offended, not sure why tho!
