that ones pretty played out. How do you wanna feel that here next summer you're at the beach and everyone's admiring your tattoo's, then here comes another guy with the same thing, then a girl. It'd be pretty embarrassing huh? I've always thought of tattoos as a spiritual connection between you and yourself. Your conscious and sub-conscious. They should mean something. Every one of my tattoo's means something to me. And I'm sure the hundreds more to come will as well. Dont get it because you think it's cool, or you saw it in a magazine once on this one guy in an ad and you dont remember what the ad was for. Plus, I wouldnt go for something that huge as my first tattoo. One, because you dont know the pain it'll bring. Are you willing to give up the 800 dollars for the tattoo that you didnt get finished cause you had no idea what you were getting yourself into? What about taking care of it. You'd have to have a pretty good friend that's willing to rub your back with lotion several times a day, because you're not going to be able to do it, I can promise you that. Then what about sleeping or driving. Imagine how uncomfortable that'll be. All in all, start small, and make it meaningful. And the most important thing about getting a tattoo, is getting to know your artist. Do you really want somone who took a 3 day class, or someone who's been doing it for 20 years. Make the wise choice. And dont try and get something cheaper. Clothes wear out, tats dont.

I had the same issue a couple of months ago... I think that you should defiantly be over 18 before you get one and you have to be sure that you are doing it for yourself, not to impress other people. It is probably worth getting something small first just to see how you feel about it. Also you should get someone to draw it on for you so you can live with it for a couple of days. You can normally get this done quite cheaply at a tattoo parlor.

If you do decide to get one, find a tattoo parlor that has been recommended by someone you personally know, and if you change your mind at the last minute don't be embarrassed about pulling out at the last minute.

As for imagining it when you are 40+ I personally wouldn't care, just because if you enjoy it now then it will give you happy memories when you are older and the chances are you will be married or ugly when you are 40 so nobody will care if you have a tattoo or not.

I got my tattoo done in the end and I love it and I will probably get another one done soon. Good luck with whatever you choose !

p.s. it doesn't hurt anything like as much as people make out; your body goes numb almost instantly !

Why not. Go ahead and get it. Startwith something small. You can always get it expanded to a bigger and more exciting design later. And if you dont like it, a small design wont matter much, would it? But start only with a tatoo on the back. Not on arms etc, as when the tatoo fad goes out, it surewould look odd.

Getting a first anything can be a scary/nervous experience, with a tattoo you need to consider that its going to be with you for the rest of your life and so you need to think about if you really want it. When i decided to get my first one it took me 6 months of thinking to decide what i wanted and where i wanted it, that way i knew i was sure about getting it done. Choosing to have a large pair of eagle wings on your back for a first tattoo in my opinion is not is good idea, as its going to cost you a lot of money and depending on the tattoist it may take more than one sitting to complete, and the sittings could last for anywhere up to 5 hours each. Choosing an area such as your back as well is going to bring you a lot of pain as it will cross over your spinal area as well as your shoulder blades where your skin and muscle is not that thick. I recommend getting your first tattoo in an area which is going to be less painfull such as a forearm and at least then if you can tolerate looking at it for an extended period of time then you can consider getting more and even progress to having the eagles wings on your back. I have four tattoos to date and the most painfull one was one that i had on my ribs and thats the kind of pain i would associate with having one on your back, as previously mentioned you also want to choose a design that is unique to yourself and has a meaning that only you know as then when you look at it you know why you got it, hope this helps you decide on what you want to do.

I have wings tattooed on my back and have 15 tattoos altogether. I find they pleasurable to have. It is sort of like a warm sensation on the skin. The worst time i find is after when it stings a little. I would say go for it, but think about it long and hard first before you do. There is nothing to be scared of. The only thing i will warn you of though, you'll get addicted after you've had your first one.

You can't be serious, but if you are then start off with something small and not so noticeable. In that way, you can lean how painful the process can be, and how permanent it is, unless you have laser treatments to get rid of it.

Most of all, don't do it just to impress someone else. You won't know them forever, but you will have to live with the results forever, whether you keep the tatoo or not..

Don't do it. If you want eagle wings on your back, buy a custom-made t-shirt. It's a lot less painful and, when you get tired of the same old picture, you can always throw it away and get a new one!

My self I have 3 tats. If you have to think about it then don't get it. You really need to think on this really good. A tat is for ever. There is no changing your mind later. Don't start with such a large one. Try a small one on your butt or some where that is not so noticeable. After awhile then move on to something that you really like. This is a life time choice take your time and think it through

I have one tattoo, the pain is temporary, the mark is forever, and so are your feelings about it. I love mine, plan on getting more. It is on my left arm, it got sorta sensitive around the inside of my arm, but well worth it. The artist will sketch it out first and put the sketch on ur skin and then u examine it and make sure u LOVE IT, not like it. This is serious.

This is the Best You could Every Do!!!!!!!

GO for a temporary tattoo of your choice and see how you go and feel.

If you like it... go for a real one!

If not.. Erase it up and stay normal as you are now.

Also note that the real one hurts! But not a temporary one.
You can change it whenever you want. Anytime, Any mood, ANy age!

Good Luck!
