Ah no but that ruined batman for me becuase all I can see is batman chasing after a woman with an ax. Freaked me out!!

He actually did not kill anyone. All of the murders happened in his own mind as he plummeted into insanity. The lawyer confirming the luncheon as well as the missing bodies and clean apartment of the first victim reveal to the audience that no one was actually killed and it was all imagined by the nutjob.

I hated that movie. The character, played by a wonderful underrated actor, Christian Bale, shows the psychological decline of a man that kills and gets away with it because he is good-looking, successful that no one would ever expect be a killer and the more he gets away with killing, the more he wants to try to get away with. Very pathetic when he goes to shoot a cat, just because he can, calls a buddy to confess and the buddy doesn't believe him.

Perhaps reading the book would elucidate some of the themes of the film more clearly.

It's pretty crazy. I was given that film by someone who told me enthusiastically it was one of his favourite films. . . I stopped seeing that guy shortly afterwards. Just a man trapped in his own madness. . .
