Obviously it was not the singer's original name. The funny thing is, though, that he took the name of a 19th century music composer. So it is in fact a real name!

(You didn't quite spell it right. The composer's name was Engelbert Humperdinck.)

Yeah it reminds me of my grandfather ... He use to that he was adopted and his real name was Englebert Humperdink ,and he had a long lost brother named Ferkecklepeck .. ( he was just teasing us kids

His real name is Gerry Dorsey from the U.K.

I guess he took on the name from an old English novel's character
