Like already suggested most children can drink from about 2-6 oz per feeding. If you feel like he's still hungry feed him a little more. Almost all babies won't overeat. If you notice he is spitting up more than just a little bit everytime you feed chances are you're encouraging him to eat too much. Ask you pediatrian or family doctor if you find his eating habits unusual. He'll be able to answer all your concerns about feeding and the amount. Also check out Pamper.com they have a lot of good information in a question and answer format. Maybe you can find what you are looking for there. Good luck!

there is no clear rule. usually the more a baby eats at once, the longer he/she will stretch between feedings, so it doesnt hurt to encourage longer feedings if your baby can handle them. if you find your baby is gassy or constipated, the trick is to constantly burp the baby, like every oz. some babies stay at 2 oz every 1-2 hours, but my baby kept eating more and more. by 2 months old he could do 8-10 oz at a time, and after a cluster feeding in the evening, would slep through the night (8-10 hrs). If youre aiming for that, try extending your feedings, clustering them in the evening, and when your baby gets up in the middle of the night, before he cries you just shake him right back to sleep. do that a couple of nights and he will start to fall back asleep on his own.

babys are self regulating at that age, offer what he will take and dump the rest do not try to make the baby finish the "required ammount of formula"
at five weeks your babys stomach is roughly the size of a shooter marble, he will need to eat frequent small meals. if his stomach becomes too full you will know because the baby will spitup (more than normal) after the feeding
you know a baby is eating enough when they have continuly gained weight (and stayed in the same percentile) and also when they have 8 wet diapers or more a day (you will notice more wet ones with cloth diapers and sometimes less with disposables

About 4oz 6 times a day according to the formula tins BUT all babies are different so take your baby's lead.
I would just add an extra ounce to the bottle when my baby started emptying their bottles and they are up to 8oz before you know it.
As ever though, if your worried speak to your health visitor or doc.

2 - 6 ounces. Burping in between. Depends on if you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding?

until thy are full! My Dr. tried to tellme not to give my daughter mor than 2 oz. at mealtime when she was a newborn. She wanted and needed more than that. I was young, and ignorant for listening to the Dr. Listen to your baby, when I finally listenend to mine, she was content and stopped crying. Rely on your motherly instincts and you will do great. I promise. No one can tell you vetter advice than your baby. Go with your gut, you already know the answer.
