I am sorry to be outright. People think, they are asking intelligent questions. There are people/creatures with 2/3/4/5/6/7.... senses.
Their ability to understand our world of sound, heat, light etc are different but they exists. If I say they do have music, what will you understand as what you know about sound and frequency right? If I say NO, you will think they have no capacity to understand that particular quality of material. Look at certain creatures around us. Some can see, some cannot. Some can hear, some cannot hear and some can hear very low voice and some can only hear a vibration on earth through their skin. And they understands the meaning of it. You want me to call that understanding of vibration as MUSIC or NON-MUSIC? there are lower or improved and extended senses around us. Study well......don't be deaf and dump and don't think others will answer such foolish questions.

Well, I know and have been exposed to the deaf community. Your question depends on who you talk (sign) to. But generally, there is a sign for music, but not for singing. So, they do have a sign, but what is the use to play music if you can't hear it. Many older deaf people prefer or don't even care for music, but many younger people do. I have been to clubs where I have met deaf people, who do dance pretty good, but only because they can follow the beat. Also, many deaf individuals do not understand the lyric and composition of music because the music's (when signed doesn't make or translate the same) translation oo interpretation is for hearing people. Interpreting the lyrics lose the feeling and voice of what the singer was projecting to the singer. So, technically yes there is music in the absence of sound, but in presence of vibration/beat. And there is only "1 true" sign for music, and not song. TA-DA!!!

If we were all born deaf, would music exist? Music would exist indeed. The existence of music does not depend on the existence of our ears. BUT will we ever learn anything called music if we were all born deaf? I doubt it!!!!

The Zen people call it the sound of one hand clapping.
In India, for centuries mystics have been talking about anahat nad -- the unstruck sound. It is there in your very being; you need not go anywhere to listen to it. It is the ancientmost music, and the latest too. It is both the oldest and the newest. And it is the music of your own being, the hum of your own existence.

Music doesn't exist as music unless it can be heard and appreciated by the human mind. To others it's just noise. Music, in the way humans use it, ie for pleasure, is unique to people. If you can't hear it, it isn't music.
Before you point out bird song - no, it isn't music to other birds. It's a message about territory, mates etc.
