I'm sorry , but I still don't understand your answers. Don't all games end when 1 team makes a goal in overtime or does it end at the end of the overtime time which is 2 15 min overtimes? Umm......???

A golden goal is played in extra time when both teams are tied and there needs to be a winne rin the game. The first team to score a goal wins immediately.

Nowadays, the golden goal is no longer used. Instead, the silver ball rule is used. Instead of stopping the match in overtime immediately after a team scores, the match continues until the end of that half of overtime.

Overtime = 15min each way (15 min halves)

A golden goal is what is known as a game-ending sudden death overtime goal. When the 90 minutes of regulation time has been played in a soccer match with the score still tied, and a winner needing to be determined, the game then goes into overtime. If the "golden goal rule" is in effect, then the team who scores in overtime, is judged to be the winner as the game ends right then and there on that sudden death goal!

Note however, that this World Cup 2006 tournament did NOT have the golden goal rule in effect, which is why any match that went into overtime was played for the full 30 minutes of OT (two 15-minute halves) even when a team did score. A couple of matches in which this was the case was the Argentina vs. Mexico game, as well as the first semifinal game where it was Italy vs. Germany,

In a game where one team have to be declared a winner (like world cup final) if it's equal at full time the game will go into extra time, the fist team that scored during extra time wins the game. That goal is a golden goal.

Yes all games end if a goal is scored in overtime, but no other goal during the match is called a golden goal.

If no team scored during extra time it comes down to a penalty shoot out, that continues until there is a winner.

Hope this helps

That s when the 90 minutes of the game are over. Then the referee gives about 30 minutes extra and the first team to score wins the game. This golden goal does not exist anymore in the World Cup

Like sudden death overtime. The first one to score in overtime wins! Europe and South America has different rules about over time. During the world cup to give each team a equal chance they play 15 minutes each over time period. Some football or soccer leagues uses the golden goal rule ( the first one to score in overtime wins! )

before there was the Golden Goal, but now it is cancelled as it unfair to the other team to give them a chance, it was when the teams are tie and they go for over time they play the 15 - 15 half times then penalties if they still tie, so the Golden goal was once one of the teams scores the match ends with the goal but now no they keep playing until they finish whole over time and then the winner can win!! lol
