Simple math

Positive balance is a positive number like $100.00
Overdrawn is a negative number like -$120.00
The negative amount is -$20.00
That is the amount you are overdrawn. Which is actually your bank balance.
If you do not want to be overdrawn (in a negative state) then you need to deposit money to get a positive bank balance. In this case at least $20.00 to get an even balance.
