life is how you see it. i hate to be all "mysterious" about it but it is all a matter of perception. the only one that can APPROVE a definition of life is you. so, you can pick from all the answers, or you can look within yourself and find the true meaning of life.

Certain moments of our lives cut like a knife and, sometimes, the best we can hope for, as a means of distancing ourselves from the ever painful truth, is a lie. Reality, in the end, is nothing more than what we make it: we choose the things and the people that will constitute our own realities, as well as the person we would like to be or feel we should be integrated to that fictitious environment that we, by conviction alone, baptize as our authenticity of life; the American, Chinese, Ethiopian, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, black, white, boy, girl, individualistic, collective, pop, rock, this or other way of affirming ourselves in a space that we share and mark as personal territory.
Having options doesn't automatically give way to making the right choices; our constructs of reality hold more mistakes, flaws and imperfections than we can count. The bottom line, though, is that it need not matter which choice is made as long as a decision is undertaken because, if we remain hesitant, what each of us knows as our reality destabilizes, the lack of squiggles and chalk drawings on clean slates holding each and everyone of us up to the light in blank, unfulfilled, passionless, unmotivated glory. Basically, if we don't connect the dots, we are nothing; we have to make ourselves, possibility of wrong choice or no.
It's never easy for, life as we come to know it, is dreadfully frightening. That which scares us is that which cuts and takes much too much time to heal. Sidestepping panic turns into a lie, a negation, the denial that appears to be somewhat of a saving grace. Our lives define themselves by the lies we will true. Therefore, a lie is Truth and the truth is a Lie.

I just think we humans think of ourselves as being sooo important, that we despreatelly need and deserve a word to compensate for the fact that we're too narrow-minded to realise that we might as well be an accident, and, on a larger, universal scale, we actually don't really mean much. The irony is that a human is not considered intelligent unless he searches for a purpose, for a reason why one is "here". Yet, with all our so called intelligence, we had to invent things like ignorance, so that it is impossible for us to exist without a meaning. That's why religion, in my opinion was invented, so that humans don't have to think about the fact that we are all pure chemistry, we are nothing more than a series of complex chemical reactions. everything that makes un react, think, feel, TICK, is simply a behaviour of some compound in speciffic conditions. I'm not being pessimistic, but i think the whole life meaning thing is a bit too much in our days. I'm just saying that there is a possibility that our whoile life, as we know it, might as well be just the same as hydrogen and oxygen together are being called "water".

While there is no universal agreement on the definition of life, scientists generally accept that the biological manifestation of life exhibits the following phenomena:

Organization - Living things are composed of one or more cells, which are the basic units of life.
Metabolism - Metabolism produces energy by converting nonliving material into cellular components (synthesis) and decomposing organic matter (catalysis). Living things require energy to maintain internal organization (homeostasis) and to produce the other phenomena associated with life.
Growth - Growth results from a higher rate of synthesis than catalysis. A growing organism increases in size in all of its parts, rather than simply accumulating matter. The particular species begins to multiply and expand as the evolution continues to flourish.
Adaptation - Adaptation is the accommodation of a living organism to its environment. It is fundamental to the process of evolution and is determined by the organism's heredity as well as the composition of metabolized substances, and external factors present.
Response to stimuli - A response can take many forms, from the contraction of a unicellular organism when touched to complex reactions involving all the senses of higher animals. A response is often expressed by motion: the leaves of a plant turning toward the sun or an animal chasing its prey.
Reproduction - The division of one cell to form two new cells is reproduction. Usually the term is applied to the production of a new individual (either asexually, from a single parent organism, or sexually, from at least two differing parent organisms), although strictly speaking it also describes the production of new cells in the process of growth.

Life is a manifestation of consciousness which by being constantly brings into existence that which is unmanifested. Essentially, you are the consciousness, although the human mind disputes this truth because thought cannot not understand it. Our minds cannot grasp it because it is much more vast and contains our minds. So we are born to forget and we go about thinking that we have a life, while in truth, we are life; and the persons that we think we are are thought forms we create with our perception.

in the sense of living, it is the state of constant and particular biological functions and features that sustain itself's (the organism) own growth, nourishment, and evolution. so something that has life can be a flower taking in the sun's rays to a monkey eating a banana in a tree to bacteria splitting itself and reproducing asexually.

now, to have a "life" is completely different. i know plenty of acne covered kids in their parents basement playing D & D by themselves in a dark robe quoting lines from LOTR who will eventially drown themselves in their Yoda shaped pillows at the end of the night, dreaming about Susan from Chem 101 with perky features and a football captain BF. ok, u got me. that's a lie... i wouldn't associate with those types. do they have "life"? that's the real question here.

The Bible says that God created us to worship Him. We are supposed to be talking with Him and listening for Him as He speaks to us. It's like a parent with a child-the parent gets so excited that a baby is going to be born, and then hopes he or she will always love them as he or she does when they are born. But we all know that as children grow, they can become disobedient toward their parents. They no longer value the wisdom and love and care that their parents have for them, as well as creating them in the first place. We do the same thing to God as we are all sinners. We all posess some rebellion and this hurts our heavenly Father as much as it hurts parents. It's not that He gets mad, but He is so hurt that we would do such crazy things to hurt ourselves and those around us. But if you are serious about your search for the truth, it's because God is speaking to your heart to know these things. The Bible says that He knows your name, and the number of hairs on your head-Pretty cool, huh? All you have to do to find the truth is to ask God to show you. He is everywhere at once and will answer your prayer.

Life is everything that happens to you from birth until death. Life is good that you will really grab a vest when the boat is sinking. Life is survival that you do not want the idea of death.

Life is about serving that which you love. If you love money, then live life for the money. If you love God, then live life for Him. If you love people, then live life for people. Those who are not living life, are those that are trying to serve too many things.

I personally believe life is about serving God, but I aslo believe that you should serve that which you find most important. That is what worship is.
